House rules
CAN CALET is a house with more than one hundred and twenty years of history. Over the years it has been an inn, a butcher's, a grocery store and the home of a family that has always kept its doors open to those who arrived. Today we welcome you with the same enthusiasm and ask that you enjoy the spaces with respect for the house, for the other guests and for the neighbours of Els Hostalets de Bas. Together, we help to preserve the essence of this very special place.
Check-in and Check-out
Check-in
From 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Check-out
From 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
An email will be sent to guests so they can complete online check-in before arrival.
If you need flexibility with these times, please let us know and we will try to accommodate you whenever occupancy allows.
Respect and community
CAN CALET is located in the centre of Els Hostalets de Bas, a village that is alive and inhabited all year round. For this reason we ask that you respect the rest of other guests and neighbours.
- During the day (8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.): general schedule allowed for normal household activities.
- During the evening (9:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.): transition period with stricter limits.
- From 11:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.: loud music, shouting or any activity that might cause disturbance is not allowed.
Any breach of these rules and the disturbances caused by excessive noise may lead to complaints from neighbours and, in the event of penalties, they must be paid by the guests.
Celebrations
We love CAN CALET being a space to share special moments with family and friends. Family gatherings and quiet celebrations are welcome, always respecting the community life and rest of other guests and neighbours.
Large parties or activities that may disturb the tranquillity of the surroundings are not allowed.
Smoke-free spaces
To preserve the comfort of all guests and keep the spaces in the best possible condition, smoking is not allowed inside the accommodations or the indoor common areas.
Pets
Pets are welcome only in the apartment Ca la Maria or with prior authorisation.
A supplement of €15 per dog per stay applies.
To ensure the comfort of all guests:
- Pets must not be left alone in the apartment unless they are safely kept in a suitable pet carrier or crate.
- Owners are responsible for any damage caused by their pets.
- Pets are not allowed on beds or sofas.
Wellness area
The wellness area is a space designed for rest and relaxation. Access requires prior booking and has an additional cost.
Minors may access it always under the supervision and responsibility of an adult. To ensure a pleasant experience for everyone, we ask for punctuality and respect for the booked time slots.
Common lounge (dining room, meeting room...)
The common lounge (dining room, meeting room...) is a space shared by all guests of CAN CALET. It is a place to read, chat, play, rest or simply enjoy the fireplace. We ask you to make responsible use of it so that everyone can enjoy it.
Garden and barbecue
The garden is a shared space. The barbecue can be used throughout the stay, but it must be booked to ensure good organisation between the different accommodations.
After each use, we would appreciate it if you would leave the area clean and ready for the next guests.
Bicycles
CAN CALET is a bike-friendly accommodation. We provide our guests with:
- A secure space to store bicycles
- A washing area
We ask that bicycles are not brought inside the accommodations in order to preserve the spaces.
Waste management
General waste can be deposited in the container located next to the well, under the cherry tree.
As for selective collection (glass, plastic, cardboard...), the public recycling point, located 100 m away, is open to everyone. (An identification card is only required for the general waste container, which, as indicated, can be deposited in the one you will find next to the well of the house)
Lost keys
Keys open the door of the house to those who stay a few days, so we ask you to take care of them. In case of loss, we will charge 50€ to cover replacement.
Respecting a house with history
Many of the elements you will find at CAN CALET —stone walls, wooden beams, Catalan vaults and some restored furniture— are part of the history of the house and have been preserved with great care. We invite you to enjoy them and to help us preserve this heritage so it can continue welcoming new guests for many years to come.
Thank you for being part of the story of CAN CALET.
Miquel and Núria
